John Usher

JOHN USHER:  Mantrailing

John has been in Law Enforcement for over twenty-five years and is currently with the Kittery, Me Police Department. John retired from the Dover, NH Police Department in 2009 after twenty-two years. Nineteen of those years he spent as a K-9 handler/trainer of the four dog unit. During that time, John handled four patrol/narcotic dogs. John was also part of the Mounted Unit for eleven years and was responsible for the training of the 3 horse unit. From 1997 through 2011, John was part of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office and handled two Bloodhounds and supervised the three dog unit. John is the Academy Director for the New Hampshire Police K-9 Academy and is responsible for the training and certification of the K-9 teams. John is a certified trainer/evaluator with the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the United States Police Canine Association.
